[Orcnet] Science Fair kids do good

The Monday Oregonian had a front page article about Brian McCarthy
winning third place in the International Science Fair.  I was a
judge for Brian's project (organic material solar cells) at the
2007 Hillsboro science fair,  This year I judged his brother Alex's
food science project on organic marshmallows (we gave Alex a first
and sent him on to State).  I expect Alex will eventually get a
big win like his brother.

These science fairs can really make a difference to these kids,
and it is a fun and rewarding experience for the judges.  The 2008
science fair season is over, but I hope more of you can find time
for the 2009 fairs next February and March.
