The Oregon IEEE Consultants' Network (ORCNET) meets regularly on the fourth Thursday of each month.

OCTOBER ORCNET MEETING

WHAT - a Presentation: "Disties for Consultants"

How to get the most from your relationships with Distributors.

Ms. Becky Gray recently earned her BSEE and is now a FAE for All American Semiconductor. She is absorbing a side of our business that few of us have had the opportunity to experience, and has agreed to share it!

Her presentation is intended to inform the design engineering public (us!) about the capabilities (and limitations) of distributors, and to encourage designers (us!) to communicate early and often with our suppliers, on every project. She will richen our understanding of how an engineer can best utilize a distributor, and the value of working together.

As always, this meeting will be free and open to the public.

WHO - Our Presenter: Ms. Becky Gray, BSEE
Becky Gray is a native Oregonian born to an electrical engineer and a computer programmer. ( ! ) She knew she wanted to be an EE at age 15. 
While studying electrical engineering at OSU, she worked as a Teacher’s Assistant in the freshman engineering lab and also interned at InFocus. 
After graduation she traveled to the East Coast and to Europe. She now works as a Field Application Engineer (FAE) for All American Semiconductor, 
a component distributor in Beaverton, OR. 

Becky looks forward to mastering the link between design theory and production using real parts, and plans eventually to become licensed as a Professional Engineer.

Thursday, October 22, 2009, 6:00 PM to chat & eat, meeting begins at 7:00 PM (approx.).

The ORCNET meets at the Beaverton International House of Pancakes (IHOP), located at the intersection of SW 158th & Walker Rd, across Walker Rd. from Fred Meyers.

The IHOP's seating capacity is approximately 35 folks, so come early! Just ask for the Oregon IEEE Consultants' Network meeting, or the ORCNET meeting. (John is expecting us.)

Our "Show and Tell" sessions happen before and after most meetings, so bring your gadgets! Your latest circuits! LINUX tools! Your creations! If something interests you technically, then others in our group will be interested, too.

Although our meetings are always free and open to the public, membership in the Orcnet has its advantages, including web-visibility, networking, and the comradie of a select group. Our website (www.eeconsult.org) hosts a separate page for each member, and we maintain a members-only mailing list where you can share thoughts and ideas with your Orcnet colleagues. Membership is $50 annually, and our esteemed Treasurer will prorate your cost according to the month you join.
