BlankGreetings -

The Oregon IEEE Consultants' Network (ORCNET) meets regularly on the fourth Thursday of each month.

Details of our next meeting (this Thursday night!) are below.

FEBRUARY ORCNET MEETING

WHAT - A Presentation

A Solution Looking For A Problem: Commercializing the Range Data Management System
by Christopher L. Dennis, MSEE

Synopsis - Playing a 5000-person game of laser tag with real tanks and real soldiers requires serious mobile sensor fusion and data management. At the request of the U.S. Army and Raytheon, a team of Portland-based engineers has created the newest generation of the Range Data Management System and is now inviting other applications of its technology. Mr. Dennis' presentation will review the original application, system capabilities, and the building-block approach that could rapidly address a new application.

WHO - Our Presenter
Christopher Dennis solves problems for which there aren't yet specialists. For a decade he's been a principal at Steaming Kettle Consulting, working in energy, airport operations, IC manufacturing, organizational development, and system design. Previously a cowpoke, he also spent six years as a research scientist at MIT and was Chair of PCC's Microelectronics Technology Department. To learn more about Chris, surf his site: www.steaming-kettle.com.
